Craiss Austria_Ebergassing: Craiss Austria establishes its mobility expertise in Ebergassing – across 42,000 square metres of storage space, the company is taking over the inbound and outbound logistics for a leading provider of mobility solutions.

Mühlacker (DE)/Ebergassing (AT), 4th March 2025 – Craiss Generation Logistik Austria GmbH und Co. KG establishes its field of expertise in the mobility industry with its branch in Ebergassing near Vienna. At the Group's largest location, covering 42,000 square metres, the logistics service provider supports a leading provider of mobility solutions from Vienna in the field of production and warehouse logistics. Since the site's commissioning in autumn 2024, Craiss Austria has expanded its collaboration at the Ebergassing location: in addition to shuttle services, the company now also looks after a second business unit of the mobility customer. The logistics service provider has equipped the seven warehouses at the site with modern storage technology and will continue to upgrade them. The second phase of IT system integration is currently underway.

"Winning the contract of our customer in the mobility sector, together with the successful launch of our location in Ebergassing, represented an excellent opportunity for Craiss Austria to further expand its services and set the course for future partnerships," explains Christian Walzl, Managing Director of Craiss Generation Logistik Austria GmbH und Co. KG. The strength of the logistics expert from Mühlacker lies first and foremost in assessing customers' needs and offering tailor-made solutions – such as choosing a well-connected location of the right size, with all the necessary technical features. "After a successful start, we are now expanding our offering and looking after a second business unit for our customer," adds Walzl.

Expansion of services
Since the Ebergassing site was commissioned, the focus of the collaboration has been on the supply of materials and order picking, similar to what Craiss is already doing in Weiz for a technology group. After the successful start, the service portfolio was expanded to include shuttle services, which Craiss uses several times a day to supply the customer's plant. Saruul Od, site manager in Ebergassing, says: "In the long term, we would like to handle additional volumes of materials at the Ebergassing location in addition to providing spare parts." As a logistics service provider, Craiss strives to offer its customers an even broader range of services. To this end, investments are being made in structural measures in order to create a storage infrastructure that is precisely tailored to the needs of customers. "Our goal is to continuously expand our capacities while always developing efficient, customer-oriented solutions," says Od.

The Craiss Group's largest location in Ebergassing
Across a total area of 82,000 square metres, Craiss has 42,000 square metres available to it exclusively for the inbound and outbound logistics of the major customer. This makes the Ebergassing location the largest in the Group. Craiss Austria initially rented six halls with 37,000 square metres of storage space. After a successful start to the collaboration, the logistics service provider was able to win a second business unit of the mobility provider, as its customer, and, in the course of this, expanded the storage area with another hall. The seven halls are only partially equipped as of yet and are currently being fitted with additional modern storage technology, including pallet, cantilever and shelving racks and block and small parts storage, to ensure the greatest possible flexibility in all processes.

Integration of IT systems
Having started with around 20 employees, Craiss now has around 40 employees working in Ebergassing. Saruul Od, former project manager and head of the Weiz site, took over as the site manager for Ebergassing and was already involved in all decisions for the new storage area during the planning phase. With his team, he implemented new, individually tailored processes for the customers. The team is currently working on the IT integration between the customers' systems and Craiss's systems. "Thanks to the transparent processes, we were able to provide our new customer with solutions tailored to their requirements right from the start," explains the site manager.

Important milestones for Craiss Austria
In order to realise Craiss Generation Logistik Austria as a full-service logistics service provider, two important milestones have been set, with the sites in Weiz and Ebergassing, since the launch of the young company. Christian Walzl emphasises that it is now important to extend the company's services to various industries, to generate new partnerships through tenders, and thus to further expand the site network in Austria. Walzl: "We are only at the beginning of our expansion strategy and still see many opportunities for future growth."
