Mühlacker, 23 July 2024 – Craiss Generation Logistik GmbH & Co. KG is planning the construction of its future headquarters at the entrance to the new Ziegelhöhe district in Mühlacker. The logistics service provider aims to start construction of the seven-storey building in the first quarter of 2025. With this new building, the company is pursuing the goal of merging its previous three administrative locations and thereby creating space for 120 Craiss employees and around 50 employees of Enzkreis District Office, which will also occupy the building as an anchor tenant. For this new building, Craiss is relying on sustainable construction and energy-efficient heating.

"The reason for our planned location is that we want to centralise administrative tasks and establish our new home as a corporate group there," says Michael Craiss, Managing Director of Craiss Generation Logistik GmbH & Co. KG. Part of the new building will also include a recessed annex, in which the District Office of Enzkreis will be accommodated as an anchor tenant. "We hope to continue our good cooperation with the municipality. We have found a long-term and reliable tenant in the District Office," says Craiss.

The logistics service provider's new headquarters will be built from sustainable building materials, heated with district heating from the city of Mühlacker, and equipped with a photovoltaic system. "We plan to make the building as sustainable as possible with respect to the technical building equipment and electrical engineering. For heating and cooling, we are striving for concrete core cooling, and a textile building envelope will protect against sunlight," says Craiss.

With its greened roof areas and climate-resistant plants in the outdoor premises, which will be irrigated with rainwater and contribute to biodiversity, the planned building will form part of the district's local recreation centre. The relocation of the building will create two squares on the company premises, of which the northern one, with a company café, will serve as a recreation area for Craiss employees. In the new building, employees of the family business and of the District Office will have access to areas for shared use, including an outdoor canteen, the multi-storey car park, the entrance areas and event spaces.

The barrier-free building follows a modern concept. While a fixed workplace is available to the majority of employees, the company continues to stick to a policy of mobile working: "Since not all employees are in the office every day, shared workplaces are also being created. The offices will be equipped with height-adjustable desks. In addition to classic meeting rooms, we are also setting up think tanks for internal departmental meetings," says Craiss.
