Donation for Rabennest: Craiss supports childcare

• Commitment to a good cause instead of lavish Christmas gifts

• Family business donates 8,000 euros to support local childcare centre

• Donation enables relocation and provides backing for the "Tasty and healthy food" project

The board and management of Rabennest e.V., Sabine Kistner-Brenner, Carmen Olt, Karin Lutz, and Katharina Pfirrmann, are delighted with the Christmas donation of 8,000 euros, presented by Craiss Managing Direc-tor Michael Craiss (from left to right).

Mühlacker, 17 December 2024 – This year, Craiss Generation Logistik GmbH und Co. KG will once again be refraining from generous customer gifts at Christmas. Instead, the logistics service provider will be donating to the Kinderbetreuung Rabennest association, a local childcare organisation. As a private educational institution, Rabennest offers a total of 90 places for children in daycare centres and nursery school. This donation of 8,000 euros will not only provide financial support for the move to a new building planned for summer 2025, but will also enable, among other things, the creation of a new garden and the conversion of the kitchen so that children can continue to be offered tasty and healthy food.

'As a family company from Mühlacker, we want to invest in the future of our region – and that future is primarily in the hands of children. Christmas is a season of reflection, and an occasion for us to support the care and development of young people, and to give them the best possible prospects and opportunities for the future,’ explains Michael Craiss, managing partner of Craiss Generation Logistik GmbH & Co KG. That is why this year's Christmas donation will go to the Kinderbetreuung Rabennest e.V. childcare centre, which was founded more than 30 years ago and has since developed from providing provisional care for a few children into an all-day centre with the highest standards in quality. In the spirit of the motto "the noise made by children is the music of the future", Rabennest currently offers a total of 30 nursery school places for children and 60 places for children in daycare at two locations. Its 36 employees assist children and their families in their daily lives and support them in their development – thereby also making a significant contribution to balancing work and family life in Mühlacker.

The childcare centre is moving to new premises due to the continued high demand for childcare places and the demolition of the old Rabennest building on Hermann-Hesse-Strasse. The new premises will accommodate four daycare and two nursery school groups in the future. As Karin Lutz, board member and director of the Rabennest association, explains, 'The move to the new building involves considerable investments that we as an association are unable to bear alone. That is why we rely on support and donations for large projects such as this.’

The donation from Craiss will not only support Rabennest with its move to the new building, but also, among other things, the "Tasty and Healthy Food" project. Rabennest has been certified organic since July 2021, and in November 2022 the facility received the certificate of the BeKi - Bewusste Kinderernährung (Conscious Child Nutrition) state initiative. To maintain this standard and comply with the relevant legal requirements, the new kitchen must be equipped with furniture and special appliances, such as a fat separator, so that children can continue to be offered healthy food. A new garden, designed to be close to nature and promote species conservation, is also being created.
