Craiss is again awarded a branch logistics contract

• German coffee and retail group commissions partner Craiss with further market supplies in the greater Ulm area

• Logistics expert moves to new location on the A8

• Expansion of the branch logistics division in full swing

For Axel Holzhäuer, team leader of branch logistics at Craiss Generation Logistik GmbH & Co. KG, the strategically targeted expansion of branch logistics services is taking shape in the guise of strengthened cooperation with the coffee and retail group.

Craiss Generation Logistik GmbH & Co. KG has won new business in the field of branch logistics. The Swabian logistics and transport company has been handling the handling, hall management and transport for a Hamburg consumer goods and retail company at its new location in Ulm since the beginning of February. Craiss is responsible for supplying branches and supermarkets in the region with coffee and non-food items. Thanks to the renewed commissioning by its existing customer, the logistics specialist is expanding the joint strategic partnership, the aim of which is to open up further areas of application.

“The renewed commitment by our long-term partner confirms our expertise in branch logistics and paves the way for the further expansion of this service sector”, says Axel Holzhäuer, team leader of branch logistics at Craiss Generation Logistik GmbH & Co. KG.

Since 1 February 2021, Craiss has been delivering to currently around 450 branches and supermarkets within a 150-kilometre radius of Ulm. In the approximately 300 square metre cross-dock, which is strategically located on the A8 motorway, coffee and non-food items are stored, picked and up to fifteen trucks are handled every day. These are acquired and dispatched via the company headquarters in Mühlacker, Baden-Württemberg. In the three-month lead time, the logistics expert trained the 20-person warehouse and driving staff. Craiss also made the switch from analogue to digital, paperless delivery and increased operations from three to four working days.

For Craiss, it’s another project with the Hanseatic coffee and retail group. Currently, the family business handles its branch logistics in Baden-Württemberg and parts of Bavaria. The company is striving for a steady expansion of its territories.
